CognoSaga Terms of Use

1. About this document

2. What CognoSaga offers

CognoSaga is an educational platform available in your browser on desktop and mobile. It offers knowledge-level tracking, assessments, explanations, activities and study journeys.

Results describe the evidence collected on the assessed topics. They are not certification, an intelligence assessment or professional validation. Demonstration content requires human educational review.

3. Your account and acceptance

By selecting the acceptance checkbox and completing registration, you agree to this version of the terms. We record the version, the document's cryptographic hash and the time of acceptance.

Use an email address you control and protect your password. Access requires email verification. The beta is exclusively for people aged 18 or over; we record a declaration of adulthood without collecting a date of birth. Password recovery and account restoration require access to that email. Do not share credentials or access other people’s accounts.

4. Energy, CognoSaga Plus and purchases

The free plan provides 20 energy per day, refilled at 00:00 UTC without accumulating unused days. The initial cost is two energy per full assessment, one per practice or review attempt, and two per forum question. Costs and allowance may change on the next UTC day, as shown in the app. Challenges award XP without restoring energy.

Energy is spent only when the server confirms the start or publication. Validation errors do not consume energy. Resuming or completing an activity already started, reading and replying in the forum and viewing your progress are free. Abandoning assessments or deleting questions does not refund energy. Repeating a completed practice is a new start.

CognoSaga Plus provides unlimited energy during the paid period, while keeping anti-abuse limits. Purchasing does not grant XP, achievements, ranking positions or administrative permissions. The offer for new purchases is US$9 per month or US$84 per year, for both recurring subscriptions and non-renewing prepaid access. The annual plan is equivalent to US$7 per month, with US$84 paid upfront; it is not a monthly installment plan. Continuous subscriptions retain their contracted price. The current offer is confirmed before payment. Creating or keeping an account does not authorize charges.

Subscriptions renew automatically only after your explicit authorization. Cancellation stops future renewals and keeps access until the paid period ends. Without confirmed renewal, the account returns to the free plan with no grace period or loss of progress. Prepaid access begins on payment confirmation and lasts one calendar month or year in UTC, adjusting nonexistent dates to the last day of the month.

Each account can have only one active paid option, without stacking prepaid periods or overlapping subscriptions. Changes of option or period take place after the current period ends, without automatic proration in beta. Continuous subscriptions keep their contracted price; new prices apply to new purchases. This version has no additional trial, coupons or individual energy packs.

BRL pricing uses direct conversion at the PTAX selling rate from the latest closing consulted, with no additional CognoSaga currency markup, displaying the date and rounding to cents. Quotes are valid for 30 minutes to create checkout, which preserves the price for one hour. Asynchronous payments initiated there keep their amount until completion. If the source is unavailable, the last quote may be used for up to seven calendar days; after that, new BRL purchases are suspended. BRL subscriptions keep their contracted renewal amount; new prepaid purchases use the current rate.

Stripe processes international purchases and Mercado Pago processes purchases in Brazil in reais, according to availability shown before purchase. Payment details are provided directly in the providers’ hosted checkouts. Available methods depend on the account, currency and payment option. Pix is offered for prepaid purchases in reais when enabled; automatic Pix is not promised in this version. The return page does not confirm payment. Final prices include taxes where applicable; fees charged by your card issuer or bank are not a CognoSaga markup.

You can cancel renewals in the app or request help through the contact provided. For distance contracts covered by Brazilian law, we respect the seven-day withdrawal right under article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, without limiting other applicable mandatory rights. Refunds use the original currency and amount: a full refund ends the corresponding period of benefits and a partial refund preserves it. Disputes may suspend the associated period while reviewed.

Account deletion records a durable renewal cancellation. Payments completed after the request are reconciled for refund without activating access. Restoring the account does not restart automatic renewal.

Free accounts can use avatars. While Plus benefits are active, you can also use a photo and add social media links to your profile. These features follow your privacy choices; subscribing does not make your profile public. The app shows whether new purchases are available. While they are unavailable, creating an account or using the free plan does not result in a charge.

5. Responsible use and platform protection

Use the service to study and track your own learning. Do not exploit vulnerabilities, automate abusive registrations, harm availability, manipulate results or distribute unlawful content.

CognoSaga may restrict access, suspend or close an account where there are reasonable indications or grounds to suspect malicious activity, fraud, attempted unauthorized access, exploitation of vulnerabilities, intentional server overload or other violations of these terms. Measures may be preventive and immediate, including without prior notice when necessary to protect the platform, its users or third parties.

The measure taken must consider the severity, risks and available evidence. Where compatible with security and applicable law, we will explain the reason and provide a way to request a review through CognoSaga's contact channels. Restriction or closure does not remove users' statutory rights, including rights regarding personal data and any amounts paid for contracted services.

We may apply request frequency and concurrency limits to preserve service availability. If you reach a limit, wait for the stated time before trying again. Temporary request limits do not, by themselves, result in account closure. Do not include other people's personal data in content reports.

6. Content and limitations

You may consult materials and explanations through the available features. Third-party rights, sources and licences indicated in each resource must be respected. This document does not grant general permission to redistribute the collection.

Questions may be corrected or invalidated, with revisions identified in the history. XP recognises participation and does not equal mastery of a skill. Inactivity does not reduce results.

CognoSaga is in Beta and may experience interruptions and errors. Report issues through the available feature. Nothing in these terms excludes rights granted to users by applicable law.

7. Data, export and deletion

The privacy notice describes the data used and the protection mechanisms. You can export your data and request deletion from your profile by confirming your password.

Deletion immediately revokes sessions and opens a 30-day restoration period. The email remains reserved during this period. Restoration requires a single-use link sent by email and confirmation. After the deadline, the cleanup process deletes personal data; restoration is no longer possible.

8. Changes and support

Material changes will be communicated through the service or your account email before taking effect where required. Each version has its own identifier and previous acceptances retain the recorded version. You may request support and exercise your rights through the contact provided in this document.

9. Community and messages

Your profile starts private. You may allow other signed-in users to see your nickname, bio, XP, summarized progress and achievements. Visitors without an account cannot view profiles. Joining the ranking is a separate choice.

Messages require both people to enable a public profile and messaging permission. Treat people respectfully: do not send harassment, threats, spam or illegal content. Sending limits, blocking and reporting are available. Disabling the profile or messages prevents new messages but does not immediately erase previously received history.

10. Subject forums

The forum contains questions and answers from signed-in users, organized by subject. Posting requires a public profile and a nickname. Contributions belong to their authors and are not reviewed learning materials; accepting an answer reflects the question author’s choice and does not guarantee accuracy. Do not post sensitive data, unlawful content or answers to ongoing assessments.

You can edit or remove your posts. Deleting a question also deletes its linked answers, including those written by other people. The team may review reports, remove posts and close discussions. Posting limits help maintain a respectful and available service.

11. Groups and classrooms

Joining an invited group requires your acceptance. Even with a private profile, members see your nickname, appearance and shared assessment results, without access to your email, registered name or outside history. Group assessments count toward your individual progress and show the cost before starting. Classrooms provide a whiteboard and chat, without voice or video. Respect others; do not post sensitive data or answers to assessments in progress.
